I like it, I love it, I want some more of it....

Anyone who knows me, knows I am a conspiracy nut. Yea, ok, maybe you think, "well, that's not good. How can you seriously take this stuff to heart? It's just crap." Well, open your eyes!

Things ARE going on that aren't what they appear to be.

One journalist (with a decidedly LIBERAL bent, which I do NOT support) has made a very good point on a topic I am quite concerned about. Read it here:

I consider myself neither liberal nor conservative (though I lean more towards conservative). I can't stand for what either side espouses. Neither one is correct (no matter who's RIGHT or wrong, haha).

The issue at stake in this particular article is the "warrantless wiretaps" which were summarily CRUSHED by the Supreme Court. The author of this article brings up an excellent point. The administration does not need the warrantless wiretaps. They have FISA, a secret court system used by the administration for the purpose of getting legal authorization to do whatever they need done. FISA is well-known to be very accepting and hospitable towards the administration.

Unless the Presidential administration is doing something they aren't supposed to (like spying on citizens for purposes other than intelligence), then they have little or no need for warrantless wiretaps and searches.

The author starts out with another REALLY IMPORTANT point. The administration is foisting upon the populace the concept that anyone opposed to the warrantless wiretaps and other Orwellian creations is a "Terrorist-Lover", one who wants or, at least, doesn't care if terrorists threaten our homes and families. This is patently ridiculous. It also SCREAMS George Orwell's 1984. No one WANTS their homes and/or businesses destroyed by terrorism. No one WANTS to be blown to smithereens by terrorist bombs. No one WANTS to die a horrible (early) death at the hands of some insane madman...oops...killer who's not afraid to die. However, we want absolute certainty that our personal, private affairs are not being video recorded in Dolby 5.1 surround sound for the purpose of being used against us later.

I've heard others say, "well, if you aren't doing anything wrong, you have nothing to worry about." That's true, from a certain point of view. Where the problem comes in is this: What is the person doing the recording thinking? If someone records me in my home saying, "I'm sick and tired of this regime. I think someone should shoot the guy in charge," what is the "spy" thinking? Does he think I'm going to shoot the President? Should he contact the Secret Service and have them arrest me? What this person may or may NOT know is that I think the regime in (insert oppressed country here) is oppressive and the leader should be shot. It may have nothing whatsoever to do with our government or leader. If the person recording me came off his coffee break at the wrong time, I could end up in prison for treason! Besides, if I disagree with the "men in power", shouldn't I be able to say so in the privacy of my own home without fear of reprisal. Just because I don't like him doesn't mean I'm going to try to kill him. However, ironically, if he takes away my right to disagree with him and dislike him, I guarantee I'm not going to like him very much. How about you?

It's a matter of freedom. I have heard freedom defined as, NOT the right to do as I please, but as the responsibility to take care of myself and my family without interference from others and without requiring help from others. Well, "interference" includes being told what to do by my government. True freedom would be hard, but I think I'd prefer it over being led like sheep. I am neither wolf nor sheep. I am a man!
